OnePlus 2 Confirmed To Have SnapDragon 810 v2.1 that Doesn’t Overheat and a software update for the One

According to a thread on the OnePlus Forums by Pete Lau, OnePLus 2 is confirmed to have the New SnapDragon 810, a special v2.1 specially designed for the ‘2’. The v2.1 was closely engineered with SnapDragon for a specially outperforming new ‘Flagship-Killer’

Curiously enough, OnePlus is pegging the version they’re using as “v2.1″, a moniker that seems to indicate they’ll be stuffing a refined unit inside the phone. They say they’ve worked closely with Qualcomm to reduce the heat output of the Snapdragon 810, and so there should be no worries for anyone who might have seen those early stories about companies having overheating issues. which would be ‘cool as ever’ and won’ overheat!

OnePlus’ detail about the thermal gel used to make sure things never get damn hot:

Inside the 2, the 810 consists of several CPU processors. Layered on top of these processors is both thermal gel and graphite placed across different areas of the phone. This graphite ensures that heat generated from the processors will dissipate evenly, as opposed to being concentrated and leading to performance issues. After rigorous testing, the 2 meets the industry standard for phone temperature, even with hours of use.

Along with this, the One has a new software update refining bluetooth connectivity and better performance. The OTA weighs about 590mb.
