- OnePlus Ace 5S is likely in the works thanks to the courtesy of a reputable tipster.
- It will be a pared-down version of Ace 5 housing a Dimensity 9400+ SoC with 7500mAh battery.
- Apparently, there's no release date available although we assume the launch is imminent and nearby.
After wrapping up the launch of OnePlus Ace 5 & Ace 5 Pro, the Chinese maker is probably working on a third variant — OnePlus Ace 5S. Apparently, a popular tipster took it to Chinese microblogging platform Weibo to tease some of the specs, revealing Ace 5S will be a slightly watered-down version of the OnePlus Ace 5 housing a Dimensity 9400+ SoC.
OnePlus Ace 5S Reportedly In the Works
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Ace 5S is likely in the works. Note that it may be called OnePlus Ace 5V as well since it is a successor to last year’s OnePlus Ace 3V, although the actual moniker is still not confirmed.
OnePlus Ace 5S Specs Rumored
Talking about OnePlus Ace 5S (or 5V), it is a watered-down version of Ace 5 and will feature an upper mid-range chipset — Dimensity 9400+ SoC. For context, both Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro sport a Snapdragon 8 Elite and thus, we called 5S a slightly pared-down version.
Moving on, the tipster claims OnePlus Ace 5S will feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS display with 120Hz refresh rate. It won’t have any curves, aka it will be a straight flat screen.
The device is likely to go for a 7,500mAh battery thanks to the Glacier silicon battery technology OnePlus has engineered lately. It allows OnePlus to pack in a high-density battery onboard their phones without increasing the size of the battery pack. There’s an 80W fast charging tech tagged to it as well. Another possibility is having a 7,000mAh battery pack with 100W charging tech, both of which look promising for sure.
DCS further adds a 50MP primary snapper at the back. Unfortunately, there’s no telephoto lens on-board. The phone might see a new ‘Magic Cube’ customizable button instead of the traditional Alert Slider, which is something OnePlus is phasing out on their phones. Another design rumor suggests a minimalistic rear panel with a circular camera bump, much as its predecessor and the Ace 5 Series.
The actual OnePlus Ace 5S release date remains a mystery, at least at the time of writing this. However, given the pace of launches from OnePlus, we doubt it would take not more than a few weeks before we could get an Ace 5S or 5V in China at the least.
