If you are waiting for the OnePlus 11 Pro to launch, there’s breaking news for you. Turns out two reliable tipsters have accented that the upcoming ‘OnePlus 11 Pro’ will drop the ‘Pro’ branding and instead, will be summoned as ‘OnePlus 11 5G’ only. Here’s the story.

OnePlus likely to drop ‘Pro’ branding for OnePlus 11 series

According to Max Jambor, a reputable leakster, the OnePlus 11 Pro 5G slated to arrive in a few weeks will get a much-awaited change in nomenclature. Apparently, the Chinese smartphone maker is expecting the ‘Pro ‘ branding from the ‘OnePlus 11 Pro 5G’ and instead, it will be called ‘OnePlus 11 5G’ but with all the Pro-level specifications.

There might not be a Pro variant in the OnePlus 11 series as per the reports. Apart from that, OnePlus is likely to resort to a pre-OnePlus 6 smartphone rollout structure when there was vanilla and a ‘T’ branded OnePlus smartphone only.

OnePlus has expanded its horizons with Pro devices along with the Nord series and now has an ‘R’ and ‘T’ series of devices too which feels too saturated. With the reported move to circle back to its previous lineup schedule, we could see two or maybe three smartphones in the OnePlus 11 series keeping the Nord series aside.

According to Max, there won’t be another launch after the OnePlus 11 5G in the first quarter of 2023 which means the other OnePlus 11 series smartphone potentially dubbed as the OnePlus 11T would only make it public in the second half of next year. Again, this is something OnePlus did till the OnePlus 7 series back in 2019 before giving the Pro series of smartphones much needed boost while giving the vanilla versions barely incremental upgrades over the years.

In any case, albeit reported by some of the big names in the smartphone leaks sector, take it with a pinch of salt until confirmed by the Chinese giant itself.
