There have been numerous leaks and reports from numerous sources about the upcoming OnePlus 6T and it’s launch date which was first speculated to be on October 17 in New Delhi. But after someone grabbed a screenshot of an Amazon listing for OnePlus 6T which is already posted on Amazon as an exclusive pre-order product but no date was disclosed as yet but according to the latest screen grab that we highlighted earlier yesterday, the date associated with the launch of OnePlus 6T is October 30.
But according to the launch invites, OnePlus will arrange the ‘Unlock The Speed’ which is in reference to the in-display fingerprint scanner, at the KDJW Stadium inside the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, New Delhi, on October 30. The launch event is expected to commence at 08:30 pm. OnePlus has stated that the event will be huge since the entire community can attend the launch on October 30 as the launch invite passes will be available from October 17 at 10:00 am at Rs. 999.
That’s not all. OnePlus has touted that the OnePlus 6T launch will be the largest and will be streamed live on its website while the enthusiast and those who love OnePlus and want to buy it can tap on ‘Notify me’ icon on the Amazon Exclusive’ pre-registration page.
The event will be global as OnePlus will arrange another launch event on October 30 in New York City at 11 am which is the same 8:30 pm IST that will mark OnePlus 6T’ Indian and global launch simultaneously.
According to the zillion leaks that led to conclude the specs of the upcoming OnePlus 6T, we know that it will sport a 6.4-inch optic AMOLED display with waterdrop notch inspired from Oppo R17 Pro. It will have the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with the two RAM configurations i.e. 6GB and 8GB and three storage configurations i.e. 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
The smartphones lack 3.5mm headphone jack which was first disclosed by founder Pete Lau but it will have an innovative in-display fingerprint scanner that OnePlus calls ‘Screen Unlock’. It will have a larger 3,700 mAh battery capable of taking at least 8 hours of on-screen usage which is in reference to the 6 to 7 hours duration on OnePlus 6’ 3,300 mAh battery pack. Apart from that, OnePlus 6T will have an out-of-the-box Android Pie 9.0-based OxygenOS 9.0 that was recently launched for OnePlus 6 as OTA.
We also know that OnePlus 6T won’t have a wireless charging support even after having a glass back and no official IP rating too even after being highly water-resistant. Finally the price, OnePlus 6T will be slightly expensive than OnePlus 6 keeping its trend and the new technology that the Chinese manufacturer has included. Well, we already waited for so many days so why not few more days and yes, True-Tech will be covering the launch event so stay tuned.
