Recently, in a new post on the OnePlus Community forums, the CEO of the company — Pete Lau has discussed some key specifications of the two phones. Under the hood, both OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 SoC which offers 25% increased CPU performance compared to the old generation. This latest SoC is power-efficient as well. Also to complement this powerful SoC both the devices will come equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 Storages.
Pete in his post, also mentioned that the LPDDR5 RAM boasts the transfer rates of 6,400 Mbps at a bandwidth of 512 GB/s. It is also efficient compared to the LPDDR4x standard. Apart from that, these upcoming models will have UFS 3.0 Storages instead of the new UFS 3.1 standard. However, OnePlus says that they have added Turbo Write and Host Performance Booster to help to enhance the capability of RAM and boost its performance. In addition to this impressive hardware, Pete says that the company’s FSE team (Fast, Smooth, Efficient) team has worked hard on the software optimizations to ensure the phones can deliver the “fastest and smoothest experience possible.”
