Realme 8i renders and specifications leaks; First smartphone with Helio G96 SoC

Realme 8i is about to go official in India. We just had some exclusive information about the upcoming smartphone dubbed as Realme 8i along with its renders leaked thanks to the courtesy of leakster OnLeaks. As the specs are concerned, Realme 8i will be the first smartphone to house Mediatek’s latest Helio G96 SoC that was launched last month.

The Realme 8i leaked renders show a good-looking smartphone with a punch-hole cut-out to the top-left corner. There’s a rectangular camera bump with four giant lenses housing a triple camera setup plus a LED flash. You get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB-C, and a headphone jack among others.

As per the Realme 8i specifications are concerned, the device will be launched as the first device ever to get a MediaTek Helio G96 SoC which has a dual-cluster arrangement comprising of two 2.05GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. There’s a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU graphics processing on-board along with 128GB UFS 2.2 storage and 4GB of RAM.

A giant 6.59-inch FHD+ 120Hz display is the center of attraction with considerable bezels around the edges. The phone has an 8.6mm thickness and weighs 194grams thanks to the plastic back and frame. It goes without saying, Realme 8i is a budget-category smartphone just like its predecessors.

As said, the rear camera setup houses three sensors outlined as a 50MP primary cam, a 2MP portrait, and a 2MP macro cam where the latter two are termed auxiliary sensors. The front camera mounted on a punch-hole cut-out is a 16MP selfie cam.

According to Digit, the device is likely to arrive with a 5,000 mAh battery and could house either a 10W standard or a fast-charging solution although not much is known about the device yet. The pricing is expected to be around Rs 10,999/- although this isn’t official pricing and thus, interested buyers will have to wait for more information to arrive soon.
