Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy Note 20 series during the Galaxy Unpacked event sometime in August. In the past, we have seen the CAD-based renders of the device which confirmed that the device might arrive with a flat-screen instead of the curved display. If this happens, this will be the first time in five years that company opts for a flat display on the Note series. The last flat-screened Note we have seen is the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Now, a new report from the Samsung Insider suggests that the Galaxy Note 20’s display will be a significant step down from the Galaxy Note 20+.

According to the leakster Ice Universe on Twitter, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will have a flat-screened display with only Full-HD resolution and 60Hz display refresh rate. Ice Universe also added that the comprehensive specifications of the Galaxy Note 20 are even lower than the last year’s Galaxy Note 10 that came out with a curved screen and narrower bezels. Considering all this, Galaxy Note 20 seems like a successor to the Galaxy Note 10 Lite instead of the Note 10. The leakster also revealed that the Note 20+ and Note 20 Ultra will arrive with 120 Hz LTPO display which offers Quad HD+ resolution. Now, using a 60Hz display on the vanilla Note 20 seems like a way for Samsung to make the customers pick the higher-priced Note 20 series devices over the vanilla variant.

Samsung is intending to keep the same camera setup found on the Galaxy S20+ on Note 20. If that is the case, the vanilla Note will missout on the 108 MP sensor and the periscope lens like the Note 20 Ultra will get. According to Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech, the Galaxy Note 20 series will come in the following colors: Black, Copper, White/Grey, and Mint Green. All these three Galaxy Note 20 variants will come with different specs, battery, and camera setups.

As mentioned earlier, Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy Note 20 series during the Galaxy Unpacked event. Due to the health concerns in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the event is going to take place online on August 5 Samsung is also planning to unveil the Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7 series, Galaxy Watch 3, and Buds X in the same event.
