- The Galaxy Z Fold7 is just 4.5mm thin when unfolded and 9.5mm when folded, making it Samsung’s slimmest Fold yet.
- Features an 8.2-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer display, offering a more immersive experience compared to previous models.
- Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, ensuring top-tier speed, efficiency, and enhanced battery optimization.
Following a recent Galaxy Z Fold7 renders leak, Samsung appears to be preparing for its next-generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold7. The leak comes from a trusted and reliable source, Android Headlines, which collaborated with @OnLeaks to provide the first look at the Galaxy Z Fold7 based on CAD renders. Based on the renders, the device appears to feature major improvements, including a thinner design, larger screens, and better internals.
Galaxy Z Fold7 renders leak reveals a overhauled design
One of the most notable changes in the Galaxy Z Fold7 is its thickness or lack thereof. The device is expected to measure just 4.5mm when unfolded and 9.5mm when folded (including the camera bump, closer to 9mm without it). Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold6, this makes it 1.1mm thinner, while also being 0.4mm thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold6 SE.

Galaxy Z Fold7 specifications
Display
Samsung is reportedly increasing the display sizes on both the inner and outer screens. The inner foldable display will measure around 8.2 inches, making it the largest book-style foldable display on the market. The outer cover display is expected to measure 6.5 inches, slightly larger than previous models.
Dimension-wise, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to be 158.4 × 143.1 × 4.5mm, indicating a wider front display. Samsung has been gradually making improvements to the cover screen’s usability since the first Galaxy Fold in 2019, and this year’s iteration seems to be its best yet.
Performance
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the same custom-tuned chip featured in the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung may opt for the 7-core version of the chip to improve thermal efficiency.
While there have been rumors about some regions receiving a version powered by the Exynos 2500, this remains uncertain due to Samsung’s deep collaboration with Qualcomm for its foldable lineup.
Battery
Despite the design changes, the battery capacity remains at 4,400mAh, the same as previous generations. However, thanks to efficiency improvements seen in the Galaxy S25 series, battery life is expected to be better than before. This offers longer screen-on time and improved power management.
Camera
The Galaxy Z Fold7 will see a major camera update, led by a 200-megapixel main sensor, introduced for the first time in the Galaxy Z Fold6 SE model in Korea.
Other camera specifications include:
- 12MP ultrawide sensor
- 10MP telephoto lens
- 10MP front-facing camera on the cover display
- 4MP under-display camera on the inner display
While under-display cameras still have limitations in image quality, Samsung continues refining the technology for better results.
Expected launch timeline
Samsung has a pattern of launching its foldables slightly earlier each year. However, with the Galaxy S25 series launching later than usual, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 may follow the trend. Currently, a mid-July 2025 launch is expected, but exact details remain unconfirmed.
