If you were eagerly waiting to try your hands on $2000 Samsung Galaxy Fold, you might have to wait for a little longer, since a MillenniumPost report claims: Samsung Galaxy Fold launch date pushed beyond July. After discontinuing pre-orders and recalling all review units, Samsung reportedly stated that it could launch the first foldable phone i.e. Galaxy Fold sometime in July according to a report, however, the latest update coming from a South Korean outlet states otherwise. Based on The Korea Herald which recorded Samsung Electronics officials talking about the launch date, we could be expecting a release date sometime in August this year and not July as it was previously believed.

Samsung Galaxy Fold was teased last year in November at the SDC 2018 followed by a detailed demo in February alongside Samsung Galaxy S10 series. The South Korean giant then added that it will officially launch the phone and the sales will start on April 24, however, several units were sent out to various tech gadget reviewers which ended miserably for the tech giant.

Turned out, Galaxy Fold had flaws such as the hinge wasn’t proper and wasn’t durable while the foldable display developed cracks and other abnormalities which is kind of a big deal for a phone which has a price tag of $2,000 which is a fortune when it comes to smartphones.

Anyways, according to Engadget, Samsung reportedly told its investors that it will launch the phone after fixing the flaws and issues and will post a new release date in the coming weeks. Moreover, Yonhap News reported that the South Korean giant has fixed the problems by fixing its hinge covering it alongside while tucking its protective layer which was found to be one of the problems with the phone as well. Samsung’s CEO DJ Koh further promised that they ‘won’t be too late’ when it comes to the release back in May but we are yet to see any official update on the said matter as of now.

Note that Samsung isn’t the only brand facing such a fate since Huawei too delayed the launch of its Huawei Mate X foldable smartphone till September after some issues concerning the longevity were raised recently. It seems like the foldable phone revolution would take a little longer since it is a considerably new technology in smartphones and an expensive one as well. We are also waiting for other smartphone manufacturers who teased their own foldable phone to showcase the actual product as well.

Samsung Galaxy Fold sports a foldable AMOLED display with a humongous 7.3-inch diagonally while a smaller 4.6-inch AMOLED display dominates when the phone is folded inwards. The device comes with the latest Snapdragon 855 7nm octa-core processor similar to the Galaxy S10-series along with an internal storage of 512GB and RAM of 12GB. You can watch out this space for more updates on the release date for Samsung Galaxy Fold and yes, Galaxy Note 10 which has been teased a lot lately.
