Last year, we saw the incoming of Samsung W2018 flip phone which was a nostalgic throwback for all those who wanted a flip phone but not so cheap. So, Samsung is about to launch its successor bearing the moniker Samsung Galaxy W2019 flip phone which recently appeared on TENAA.
The smartphone has two 4.2-inch Super AMOLED display along with latest Android (probably Android Oreo 8.1). Talking about the phone, it has dual-screens, dual-SIM LTE support along with a battery pack of 3,000 mAH. Since the flip phone is expected to launch in China only as all W-series of phones, Samsung Galaxy W2019 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC instead of Samsung’s Exynos 9810. According to the listing on TENAA, the product has a dimension of 132.9×63.2×17.3mm where the width is calculated for both flip panels.
Last year, the W2018 saw the first ever variable aperture rear camera that was soon reflected in Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. This year, Samsung has promised of a dual-camera setup and that’s what we spotted in TENAA listing as the W2019 carried a horizontally-arranged and centrally-aligned dual-camera setup. A previous report stated that it could have a main sensor with a f/1.5 to f/2.4 variable aperture along with 2x zoom with f/2.4 aperture fixed focus telephoto lens and since there is a history behind Samsung and telephoto lens, we could see that coming.
The phone is speculated to have a Bixby button to call out Samsung’s voice assistant on the press of a button. The phone has two screens as said with a T9 keyboard along with 6GB RAM that will power the high-end Qualcomm SoC. Clad with fancy rose gold color, it is estimated to fetch CNY 17,000 or $2,500 which is although “very expensive” but that’s the point of its sale, it is targetted to those who can afford to shell out more than two grand for it.
