Apple iPhone 16 Series
Release Date: September 9
I am quite sure if you check out list of smartphones launching in September 2024, you all are waiting for the iPhone 16 series to show itself for ages now, especially when the rumors started surfacing almost a year ago.
Successors to iPhone 15 series, the entire iPhone 16 series is likely housing an Apple A18 chipset fabbed on the latest TSMC N3E 3nm node, although the Pro series will get a slightly improved SoC. Ultimately, this results in better performance and efficiency. Additionally, we will see Apple Intelligence features making their way to the iPhone 16 Series running iOS 18.
iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will get a slightly larger display at 6.27” and 6.85” respectively compared to 6.1” and 6.7” on the predecessors. The devices are likely using a micro-lens technology that results in reduced power consumption and improved brightness. There’s also a Capture button on-board probably to be used for photography purposes.
Huawei Tri-fold Smartphone
Release Date: September 10
Still unnamed, we will get to see the innovative tri-fold smartphone for the first time as Huawei launches it on September 10 at its ‘grand ceremony’. We have already caught a glimpse of the phone when Huawei Consumer Business CEO Yu Chengdong was spotted using the tri-fold wonder on a flight.
According to Ross Young, the phone is tipped to get a 10-inch display. As the name suggests, it will fold twice, resembling three phones stacked on top of each other, akin to how the usual foldable phones look with two phones stacked. We are yet to find any more information about the upcoming launch, although it is expected to be unique and innovative as per Huawei’s invite poster.
Xiaomi Mix Flip
Release Date: Mid-September 2024
After marking its maiden debut in China, Xiaomi Mix Flip is speculated to make a splash in the global markets as well. The clamshell-styled foldable phone packs in a 6.86” TCL C8+ LTPO primary panel with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate. The outer or secondary display is a 4″ TCL C8+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood along with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. We will have to wait to see exactly how many configurations will arrive. The phone is equipped with a Leica-backed 50MP dual rear cam plus a 32MP front cam. It is likely to make its debut in the second half of this month.
iQOO Z9 Turbo Plus
Launch Date: Mid-to-late September 2024
Adding an eighth model under the Z9 series, the iQOO Z9 Turbo Plus appeared on a recent leak suggesting an imminent launch in mid-to-late September 2024. It is speculated to be equipped with a Dimensity 9300+ SoC, an 80W fast charging tech, Android 14-based OriginOS out-of-the-box, and a 50+8MP dual rear camera assembly with OIS. Apparently, we don’t know much about the device except the recent leaks.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE
Release Date: Late September/ Early October
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is expected to bring an AMOLED 120Hz display plus a 10MP front shooter. On the rear, we have a 50+12+8MP triple rear camera.
