We are done through the first quarter of this year, and our phones haven’t caught up yet, let’s take a look at some of the best Android Apps for 2017. This edition is for all those music lovers, all the geeky nerds and those that demand better functionality. Let’s take a look at what we’ve got for the month.

SphereTones

Creation is an ability that not many of us possess. We are not gods. But what if you could create sound? Visualize it rather? Sphere tone brings you just that. Imagine a world where shapes and sound correlate. With SphereTones, we encourage randomness. The graphics are minimalistic and relevant. Each stroke of the hand corresponds to a tune, wherein even the most chaotic actions can create the most beautiful melody. Make the most out of your artistic ability. What you see, you can hear.

Intercom

Who doesn’t want to be a spy? Intercom enables your mobile device to turn into a fully functioning walkie-talkie. Just install the app and talk with anyone over Bluetooth or WiFi! Intercom acts like a conventional two-way radio with a range of up to a hundred meters. One of the best parts is you don’t need to register or make an account, just install the app and talk to anyone with the app within your range.

LokLok

This app is one of the best means to get messages and notes across to people. Who has time to unlock their phones and check each message? Rather, with this app, your message is displayed right on their lock screen! LokLok replaces your Android lock screen with a shared whiteboard that is always in sync between you and whoever you are connected to. Create a group with one or more people, and whenever someone changes their lock screen, it’ll be automatically updated on everyone else’s. This is the easiest way to leave notes, drawings, and photos for them to see when they check their phones.

BatON

BatON is an app that shows the battery levels of your connected Bluetooth devices. A parameter which Android fails to address. Although Android 7.0 Nougat release already has this feature, less than 3% of Android devices run on it. We are surrounded by Bluetooth devices, from our speakers to smart homes, and one of the most limiting aspects is we cannot keep a track on their battery levels. Thus, BatON provides a workaround that will work with Bluetooth devices that have handset functionality (i.e. accept/reject calls) or a GATT profile (usually Bluetooth LE devices).

Noon Pacific

This is a nifty little app that collects the best songs, handpicked from the best music blogs. Personally, I tend to spend a lot of time searching for good music on youtube. Surfing through dozens of channels trying to find those couple of songs that fit my rhythm. Instead, now I can start to listen to Noon Pacific’s mixtape, and every week I’m sure to be rewarded by at least a few good lyrics. Other than the music itself, the app graces us with its clean and sharp aesthetic and catchy album covers.
