A few days ago we compiled a roster of top 5 reasons to buy the Moto G5 Plus. However, no phone is perfect; there are always certain factors that discourage some or the other customer from purchase the phone. Subsequently, we planned to compile another list, but this time, a list of top 5 reasons to not buy the Moto G5 Plus.

1) Pricing

It comes as no surprise, the first reason to avoid buying the Moto G5 Plus is the price. The Moto G5 Plus is priced pretty aggressively compared to what it brings to the table. Talking digits, the phone with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM is available for Rs. 15,000, and the 32GB, 4GB variant is priced at Rs. 17,000, which doesn’t serve as a good price to value ratio.

2) Storage

Apart from the extraordinary pricing, the storage options to choose from are deficient as well. Not only the internal storage provided on the device is pretty less compared to the pricing, but also, it is very easy to run out of it. Though the phone has expandable storage up to 128GB, not all system files can be migrated to external storage. Which implies, you are likely to run out of the internal storage, which is dismaying.

3) Battery life

The Moto G5 Plus sports a 3,000mAh battery, which is again significantly limited for the price tag. Besides that, the phone hardly offers 4 hours of screen on time and requires to be charged almost at the end of every day.

4) Camera bump

The camera on the Moto G5 Plus is fantastic for the price tag, as we discussed in the top 5 reasons to buy the Moto G5 Plus list, however, the bump that follows is not particularly easy to get used to. Not only it is huge but also makes the phone wobble when laying on the table. What’s more, the camera glass has no protection edge around it, making it easy to damage.

5) Android updates

Motorola is well known for keeping their devices up to date with latest Android releases. However, recently, Lenovo (parent company of Motorola) has been fumbling with software updates. Since the Moto G5 Plus has been released under Lenovo, there are chances that your Moto G5 Plus may not be updated to the latest Android updates, leaving you with the same old monotonous phone.

As mentioned earlier, no phone is quintessential, every person has a different outlook and perceives the world differently. Which also affects the smartphones and how they appeal to everyone. Therefore, it is also a good idea to consider the top 5 reasons to buy the Moto G5 Plus before you rule it out from your wishlist, chances are, the phone may event suit your needs.
