As Google is now making their glasses ready for consumers Sony has brought their first unit, with the name SmartEyeGlass on the market and from the start it will be available in 10 different countries. Similar to Google Glass, Sony SmartEyeGlass (SED-E1) is still in developing stage so buying it can mean that there are still problems that need to be solved in the software. The SmartEyeGlass is making it possible to interact with your surrounding by taking pictures, send a message and much more. The SmartEyeGlass is only supported for Android devices that are running Android 4.4 KitKat or higher, if your device is on an older version of Android it can’t pair with the SmartEyeGlass app in the Play Store. Unlike the Google Glass, the SmartEyeGlass is connected by a wired remote that stays connected to the device at all time. Inside the controller you can find the battery, microphone and speaker. Though Sony is quoting that the device will only last around 150 minutes of usage.

For those that are interested in the developer product, the SmartEyeGlass is now available in the United States, Germany, United Kingdom and Japan for consumers for $840. For the other six countries: Belgium, France, Spain, The Netherlands, Italy and Sweden it will only be available exclusively for a business.
