Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has officially declared the launch date for its upcoming Vivo X200 Series on October 14. The event will be held in Beijing, China, marking its launch in the home country before it eventually rolls out in other markets, if it does. Here’s what the buzz is all about.
Vivo X200 Series Launch Date Announced
According to the announcement, the Vivo X200 series will launch on October 14 in China. As usual, the series comprises X200, X200+, and X200 Pro. The last generation of devices (aka the X100 series) was powered by Dimensity 9300 SoC and if the trend is followed, we should see Dimensity 9400 SoC powering the latest lineup of devices.
The Vivo X200 series will debut with a flat-screen design that is much like the latest iPhones. The standard Vivo X200 is likely to sport a 6.3” OLED LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K of resolution. The Pro model is likely to see a larger 6.7” or 6.8” micro-curved to appeal to the subset of users. X200 Pro will use a 1.5K resolution and a LTPO panel on top.
We have heard about a 50MP with OIS, a wide-angle, and a 70mm periscope lens for the X200 (and X200 Pro) with 3x optical zoom capabilities. Vivo X200 Pro, being the top-of-the-line model, is likely to sport a 200MP periscope telephoto shooter at the back. It will be flanked by a 50MP primary and a 50MP ultra-wide shooter. Unfortunately, details regarding the trio are still scarce.
The trio will run on OriginOS 5 which is based on Android 15. This should strap the Vivo X200 series with AI features, personalized interactions, and a smoother user experience. Next up, we have heard about a 5,600mAh and 90W fast charging on the X200 while the X200 pro gets an even larger 6,000mAh shooter.
Other specs include silicon batteries, a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, IP68/69 rating, among others. Reports suggest Vivo is launching the X200 series as a direct opponent to the iPhone 16 series that made its debut on September 9.
