Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 series launched globally: MIUI 13, 108MP camera & 120Hz AMOLED display

Xiaomi has upped its game by releasing four new smartphones in the global market. The Redmi Note series comprises Redmi Note 11, Note 11S, Note 11 Pro 4G, and 11 Pro 5G with enticing specifications. The phone has arrived as lighter, cheaper, smaller, and smarter options compared to its predecessors. Check out the pricing and specifications of the newly introduced models right here.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Series Pricing and Availability

The vanilla Redmi Note 11 arrives in three trims. The first is a 4GB+64GB with a $179 price tag followed by $199 and $229 on 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB trims respectively. The Redmi Note 11S, on the other hand, carries a price tag starting at $249 for 6GB+64GB while the 6GB and 8GB variant with 128GB storage has $279 and $299 price tags respectively.

The devices will go on sale on January 28 with an early bird discount of $20/$30 on the price tag based on the variant you choose. Both the phones have identical color options i.e. Twilight Blue, Pearl White, and Graphite Gray colorways.

Talking about the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Pro 5G, the devices will go on sale in February and the dates are yet to be announced. Its base 6GB+64GB variant is on sale at $299 and $329 respectively. The higher 6GB+128GB trims in both the models are priced at $329 and $349 respectively. Finally, the topmost trim at 8GB+128GB is priced at $349 and $379 respectively.

You can choose between Star Blue, Polar White, and Graphite Gray color options on Redmi Note 11 Pro whereas the Note 11 Pro 5G gets a slightly different color variant for the first one i.e. Atlantic Blue while two other options remain the same.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 sports a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with a 1080p+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The device is lighter than the Pro variant. It boasts a refresh rate of 90Hz which gives it an upgrade over its predecessor Redmi Note 10. The display lights up to a whopping 700 nits and arrives with IP53 splash resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it.

Redmi Note 11 packs in a Snapdragon 680 SoC giving an upgrade over SD678 used on the Note 10 device. The chipset now has new 4x Cortex-A73 cores and it is fabbed on an 6nm node. Apart from that, it brings along 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB of storage along with it with dedicated microSD card slots for further expandability. The device runs on Android 11-powered MIUI 13 out-of-the-box.

The device rig on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is good packing a 50MP primary sensor, two 2MP sensors, and an 8MP ultrawide snapper with a 118° field of view. All this is housed in a rectangular camera setup with the primary sensor taking a huge form. There’s a 13MP front-facing camera housed in a punch-hole cut-out at the center.

About the powerhouse, Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 packs in a hefty 5000 mAh battery under the hood paired with an optimized 33W fast charging tech that takes the battery from 0 to 100% in just 58 minutes which is a wholesome improvement over its predecessors for sure.

Xiaomi has decked up Redmi Note 11S a bit above the vanilla Redmi Note 11. Albeit with the same display tech, the device has a 6.43-inch AMOLED 1080p+ 20:9 700 nits panel with GG3 protection and IP53 rating. Instead of a 50MP primary rear sensor, Redmi Note 11S received a 108MP ISOCELL HM2 snapper as seen on the Pro variants. It uses 9-in-1 pixel binning technology to grab excellent shots at 2.1micron pixel size. Apart from that, there’s 8MP ultrawide snapper with an FoV of 118°, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro sensor as usual.

The front snapper has seen a jump too with a 16MP snapper instead of 13MP on the vanilla Note 11. Moving on, the device uses an Helio G96 SoC instead of the last-gen G95. Even though it uses the same fabrication process but with enhanced 2x Cortex-A76 cores for better performance.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S is available in multiple storage configurations from 4/6/8GB RAM to 64/128GB of storage with a dedicated microSD card slot although it is a hybrid one.

It goes without saying, the battery size and the charging tech remain undoubtedly the same between the two models. Other specifications that both the devices share are a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, NFC, IR blasters, a side-mounted fingerprint snapper, and the Android 11-powered MIUI 13 software under the hood.

Talking about the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, it goes shoulder-to-shoulder with Redmi Note 11 4G except for minor differences.

The 5G variant packs in a 6.67-inch AMOLED 1080p+ panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 700 nits of typical, and 1200 nits of peak brightness. Fortunately, Xiaomi upgraded the refresh rate on the device to 120Hz with a 360Hz touch sampling rate making it snappier than it could. Apart from that, there’s the usual IP53 splash resistance and GG5 for extreme protection.

The department where the Redmi Note 11 5G and its 4G variant part ways are with the chipset under the hood. The 5G variant packs in a Snapdragon 695 SoC with 64/128GB of UFS 2.2 storage and 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM options available at your disposal. As in the case of storage expandability on vanilla Redmi Note 11, the Note 11 Pro 5G packs in a hybrid dual-SIM slot with a microSD card support to it.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G, on the contrary, packs in an Helio G96 SoC with two new Cortex-A76 cores. There’s a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, MIUI 13-powered Android 11 under the hood among others.

Talking about the camera rig, it looks almost the same as the on-Pro variants. The Redmi Note 11 Pro packs in a 108MP primary snapper along with 3x native zoom, 9-in-1 pixel binning. There’s an 8MP ultrawide snapper with a 2MP macro sensor giving it a triple rear camera setup. By the way, the camera bump looks the same as in the non-Pro variant.

Apart from that, there’s a 16MP front camera as well. There are stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner among others. There’s a 5,000 mAh battery under the hood capable of juicing up the battery from flat to 50% in 15 minutes. This is because of the powerful 67W fast charging tech. Other specifications such as Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi ac, IR blaster, and NFC remain the same on all the Pro models.

Turns out the 4G variant for Redmi Note 11 Pro isn’t much different from the 5G version. It shares the same display tech, battery and charging speeds, and overall design. The massive difference is with the processor which is an Helio G96 fabbed on a 12nm node. The device too runs on Android 11-flavored MIUI 13 out-of-the-box.
