Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Gets a Major Price Cut, Now starts at ₹8,999

Xiaomi is one of the most popular smartphone brands in India, well-known for launching powerful devices at a very reasonable price tag. The company is all set to begin this year with more exciting products, and as a result the prices of company’s older devices has been reduced globally as well as in the Indian market. Xiaomi recently dropped the prices of Mi A2 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, and  now the pricing of its popular selfie centric phone, Redmi Y2, has been permanently dropped by around ₹1000.

The Redmi Y2 is currently available in two variants and both of them have acquired a major price drop. According to the newly announced pricing, the base variant of the phone with 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM, is now available at ₹8,999, compared to its earlier pricing of ₹10,499. While the high-end variant of the phone with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM is priced at  ₹10,999, earlier priced at ₹11,999. These sudden pricing drops could be the best news for those who recently raise their interest in purchasing Redmi Y2. The new prices are now live on Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home, and partnered offline stores as well.

Just to recall, Redmi Y2 was launched in June, Last year. The phone comes with a 5.99-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) display, carrying an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC, coupled with upto 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by a 3,080 mAh battery and it runs of Android 8.1 Oreo flavoured with MIUI 9.5 version. In terms of optics, it comes with a vertically aligned real dual camera setup, including a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor that come with a pixel size 1.25 micron. Being a selfie centric phone, it has 16-megapixel selfie shooter together with an LED flash.
