Nokia Steel HR To Be Launched Soon in India As an Online Exclusive: Report

After the launch of four mobile phones in India, Nokia is all set to bring its smartwatches to the country really soon. If the recent report is to be believed, the smartwatches will be available exclusively through an online store, like it has been the case with the Nokia 6.

In an exclusive talk with Digit at MWC Shanghai, Julien de Preaumont, Head of Marketing, Nokia Asia, told that the entire range of Nokia branded-smartwatches will go on sale in India sometime later this year. He also informed that the company will tie up with an online partner for handling the sales but no specific launch date was provided, as reported by the publication.

Nokia’s smartwatch range will essentially be the rebranded Withings smartwatches. The Nokia range will consist of three smartwatches, two of which are already available in India under the Withings brand. Nokia had announced at MWC earlier this year that it will drop the Withings brand this summer in favor of their own brand name on smartwatches.

A number of health gadgets are being made by Nokia like a weighing machine has also been designed Besides these smartwatches. Nokia integrated the Patient Program within the Health Mate app which is being said to be the Nokia’s version of Apple Healthkit. Nokia will be launching more smartwatches and other health gadgets in the coming years.

Coming back to smartwatches that Nokia will be launching here in India, the Nokia Steel HR will be the most exciting of them all. It is the latest product under its category from the company and comes with a small circular OLED display. The smartwatch will have a heart rate sensor, as its name suggests, and its battery life will be around 25 days.

Nokia Steel is another smartwatch that is of analog variety and doesn’t feature any display, leaving you with the companion app for getting all the information. The Steel series is on the premium side, while there is Nokia Go that is available for a lower price. It is a circular tracker with an e-ink display that gives a battery life of 8 months and is also water resistant up to 50 meters.
