It was just a few days ago when we came to know Apple’s working on new Mac Pro models. On our previous article, we mentioned that we’d probably see the new Mac Pro sometime next year. While that seems very likely, for now, you’ll have to make do with the new configurations that they unveiled today. Though the design remains just the same, there are some notable small upgrades on the inside.
When you head over to the Mac Pro section on the official Apple website, you can use two upgraded configurations. The base model is priced at $2,999 in the US and remains to be Rs. 2,49,900 in the India store.
Key specs of the base model:
- 3.5GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5 processor
- Dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs
- 16GB of RAM
The second, more powerful variant is priced at $3,999 in the US and Rs. 3,29,900 in India.
Key specs of the second model:
- 3.0GHz 8-core Intel Xeon E5 processor
- Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs
- 16GB of RAM
Features common to both:
- Expandable up to 32GB (four 8GB modules) or 64GB (four 16GB modules) of RAM
- 4 USB 3 ports
- 6 Thunderbolt 2 ports
- Dual Gigabit Ethernet
- HDMI 1.4 UltraHD ports
- Wi-Fi 802.11ac
- Bluetooth 4.0.
The new Mac Pro is yet to be announced which is likely happening sometime next year. Currently, only the base model is available for purchase, while the ETA for the second model is unknown.
