Poco F2 Pro Launch Tipped for May 12: Price, Specifications, Color Options, Everything You Need to Know!

Poco is expected to launch the successor to its Poco F1 smartphone that came out in the year 2018. Although there is not a lot of standard information around the Poco F2, there are quite some leaks and speculations around the Poco F2 Pro and the Poco M2 Pro as well. The launch of the new smartphone from Poco is set for May 12 as the company reportedly scheduled an event in Spain where it will launch its new device. Xiaomi’s PR agency had sent out the virtual invites for this Poco launch event to the local media and the recent reports claim that the company will unveil the Poco F2 Pro at this event.

It is worth noting that the Poco F2 Pro is being dubbed to be the most expensive smartphone from the company yet. Also, the company has made it clear that it will not come to the Indian market. By this time we already know that the Poco F2 Pro is going to be the rebranded version of Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro. Now, ahead of the next week’s launch, 91Mobiles revealed the pricing and color variants of the Poco F2 Pro.

Poco F2 Pro Price and Color Options

According to a report by 91Mobiles, Poco F2 Pro will be priced at EUR 570 (approx 46,800 INR) for 128 GB variant. Although the phone will be coming in other variants, the publication has not mentioned the pricing of other Poco F2 Pro variants. According to the recent reports by a Portugal tech site, the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB onboard storage variant of the Poco F2 Pro will be priced at EUR 649 (approx 53,300 INR). The 8 GB GB RAM + 256 GB onboard storage variant, on the other hand, will be priced at EUR 749 (approx 61,600 INR). The prices of smartphones in Portugal generally higher when compared with European prices, considering the country’s private copy taxes.

As per the report, citing sources, the Poco F2 Pro will come in the same four-color options in which the Redmi K30 Pro was launched in China. The Poco F2 Pro will be made available in Blue, Purple, White, and Grey. This adds more weight to the theory that Poco F2 Pro is a rebranded version of Redmi K30 Pro. But the expected pricing of the Poco F2 Pro differs from that of Redmi K30 Pro as the base variant of K30 Pro is launched at CNY 2,999 (approx 32,500 INR) and the top 8 GB + 128 GB variant of K30 Pro is priced at CNY 3,699 (approx 40,000 INR)

Poco F2 Pro Specifications and Features (Expected)

As mentioned earlier, there are a lot of theories that confirm that Poco F2 Pro is going to be the rebranded version of Redmi K30 Pro. For most of us, this is not a surprise considering the Redmi K30 is released as the Poco X2 in the global markets. Poco F2 Pro boasts a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The aspect ratio of this display is 20:9 and comes with 87.2% screen to body ratio, courtesy of the full-screen display, and pop-up selfie camera setup. The outdoor visibility is not going to be an issue with this display as F2 Pro is going to come with 500 nits display and HDR10+ support.

Underneath the hood, the device is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and Adreno 650 handles the graphic duties here. The SoC here integrates a fast prime core that clocks up to 2.84 GHz and three fast ARM Cortex A-77 clocked at 2.42 GHz each. The device will be made available in three storage options. The base variant comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage and there is also an 8 GB RAM and 128 GB variant. The top variant comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of onboard storage.

As for the optics, the Poco F2 Pro comes with the quad-rear camera setup. The primary unit is a 64 MP unit with F/1.7 aperture. The secondary unit is a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 13mm field of view. There tertiary is a 5 MP telephoto sensor with 2X optical zoom and supports for 50mm macro shots as well. The last sensor is a 2 MP depth-sensing unit. On the front, there is a motorized pop-up camera with a single 20 MP selfie shooter with an F/2.0 aperture.

The Poco F2 Pro runs Android 10 out of the box with MIUI skin on top. MIUI is a feature-rich interface with many security features and AI-based functionality support. USB Type C, 3.5mm headphone jack, in-display fingerprint sensor, and pop-up selfie camera takes an account here. All this is backed by a 4700 mAh battery with 33W Quick Charge support.
