  • Apple is working on a Vision Pro 2 slated for launch sometime next year powered by M4 SoC.
  • The next-gen Vision Pro 2 might see 'significant' upgrade with M4 or M5 SoC and with a price tag of $3,500 MSRP.
  • Apple is looking forward to ship 10 million units in 2027 with multiple VR products in the works.

Apple Vision Pro 2 is in the works, and we could get the second-gen VR headset sometime next year, says a reputed tipster. In fact, Apple has multiple Vision AR/VR products in the works, and it seems they will be launching back-to-back in the coming years. This comes from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, according to whom, Apple has multiple Vision series products in the development slated for their launch soon.

Apple Vision Pro 2 Powered by M4 is Coming in 2026

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman hinted Apple is working on Vision Pro, the second-gen AR/VR headset, and it will be powered by M4 SoC. Now, this report does contradict Kuo’s claim on the M5 SoC (which we will be talking about soon).

Talking about Gurman’s take, the Vision Pro 2 features an M4 SoC and might be priced at $3,500 MSRP. This is the same price tag as the original Vision Pro, which fails significantly due to its expensive price tag. It remains to be seen if Apple chooses to reduce the price or chooses to increase it, although it will be counteractive.

Apple Vision Pro 2 is expected to feature an upgraded strap, keeping head and neck pain in mind. There are also some AI features in the mix that should put Vision Pro 2 in-line with AI upgrades across iPad, iPhone, and Mac lineups.

Apple Estimates Delivering 10 Million AR/VR Units in 2027

Ming-Chi Kuo says there are at least three Vision series AR/VR products in the works and four smart glasses, one of which is a Ray-Ban Meta-style glass. Apple has expressed intent to deliver 3 million to 5 million shipments in 2027. In fact, Apple’s overall estimates for a slew of AR/VR products in 2027 are more than 10 million units, all combined. It hints how the company is focusing more on AR/VR products as a next major tech category for consumers that can prove instrumental for the brand.

Apple is planning to roll out a Vision Pro this year powered by M5 SoC. This will be a much better upgrade over the M2 chipset that the last version saw. Fast-forward to 2027, we could see a Vision Air, as the name suggests, it will be a lighter version of AR with a 40% reduction in weight propelled by the latest iPhone processor.

We are hoping for a second-gen Apple Vision Pro scheduled for launch sometime in 2018. Apple is looking forward to a significantly lighter design on the Pro and with a lower price tag on-board.

Moving forward, we will see smart glasses from Apple, with the initial offering slated for launch in 2027. There are also extended reality glasses with color display which is completely see-through and with AI connectivity, slated for launch sometime in 2028.
