- Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ brings Exynos 2600 SoC for the world while JP, NA, and CN gets a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 SoC.
- Both S26 and S26+ brings identical specs on the table while S26 Ultra has a major upgrade in the specs sheet.
At the famed Galaxy Unpacked 2026, we got our hands on one of the most-awaited phones this year, aka the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ (or S26 Plus). We already covered the Galaxy S26 Ultra with its impressive Privacy Display; therefore, here we are going to talk about the vanilla and its ‘Plus’ models at large.
Specs, features and more revealed at Galaxy Unpacked
For starters, both the Galaxy S26 and S26+ are identical, just as their predecessors would be, in terms of specs and features, except the S26+ is slightly larger. We are talking about a 6.3” LTPO OLED panel with 1080p+ resolution and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate on the vanilla model versus a 6.7” 1440p+ LTPO 1-120Hz panel on the S26+. Turns out the vanilla S26 grew by 0.1” compared to the 2025 Galaxy S25 while keeping all other specs static.
Processor, performance, and Galaxy AI
Moving forward, both phones are available in two storage trims, i.e., 256GB and 512GB. The RAM is capped at 12GB, unlike the S26 Ultra, which taps the 16GB+1TB variant as well. We have the Exynos 2600 SoC under the hood across both the models, except for Japan, China, and North America, where the phone is using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy AP.
Gone are the days when people used to treat Exynos as inferior to Snapdragon because Samsung has made quite a stride in its manufacturing process, yield, and the HBP technology that will keep the phone cooler even under a lot of stress. Talk about bulking up, and Exynos isn’t shy about it.
Samsung promises a boost in terms of CPU performance by 19%, while the GPU performance jumps to 24% and faster NPU performance by 39% for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Although the numbers aren’t apparent, the performance on the Exynos 2600 models is incrementally identical.
Talking about AI, which is undoubtedly one of the big things on Galaxy phones, both the S26 and S26+ bring a slew of performance under Galaxy AI. The Personal Data Engine on board pulls all the data from emails, messages, and notifications to add to your calendar. There’s AI Eraser, Call Screening, and Audio Eraser, to name a few.
Next up, we have the battery pack. Unlike the S26 Ultra that upgraded its charging systems, the Galaxy S26 is still reliant on 25W wired and 15W charging tech. Here, the Galaxy S26+ did get some boost where the wireless charging got updated to 20W (instead of 15W), although the wired tech is still unchanged at 45W.

Minimal changes in terms of camera
As I mentioned earlier, there’s not much difference in the specs sheet between S26 and S26+. One of the major similarities is its use of the same triple rear camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary wide-angle shooter with OIS, a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom, and finally, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter with an f/2.2 lens. Usually, the best cameras are reserved for the Ultra, and the S26 series is no different, although it doesn’t mean the S26 and S26+ aren’t good in terms of photography; they are.
