The Taiwanese manufacturer Acer today pulled the wraps from their latest entry in the Predator series, the Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop at New Delhi. In a presentation that lasted barely 30 minutes, Acer managed to cover pretty much the major features of the product. To commence, let’s get the specifications out of the way – the Helios 300 ships with a seventh generation Intel Core i5 (7300HQ) or Core i7 (7700HQ), an overclockable Nvidia GTX 1050Ti GPU with 4GB GDDR5 or 8GB DDR4 RAM upgradeable to 32GB, a 128GB SSD, and a regular 1TB hard drive for storage. Luckily the RAM and storage components are user replaceable. Although quite to the unfortunate, the Predator Helios 300 does not support the GTX 1080i GPU from NVIDIA, although Acer does plan to bring some entries into their lineup featuring the 1080s throughout the year.

But as far as the looks are concerned, the Helios 300 looks really identical to the ROG series from Asus, the hinge, the trackpad, the red and black theme, basically a typical gaming beast. On top of that, even though it sports a 15.6” FHD display, it does not feel like a bulky product, which is surprisingly good. But easily the most focused and talked about feature of this laptop atlas in the launch event was the weight; it weighs just 2.7kgs, which Acer considers nothing less than magic.

As far as the I/O is considered, users can, of course, jack it all up with a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, a 2-in-1 card reader, and an HDMI 2.0 port as well.

But a few honorable mentions, the Predator Helios 300 ships with a Predator Sense software which can help the users to overclock the hardware inside, very convenient.

It also uses an AeroBlade 3D Fan to keep the laptop from overheating. And last but not the least, it supports Dolby Atmos Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technology to deliver great sound. The Helios 300 is available for purchase on Flipkart exclusively right now. The Core i5 (7300HQ) model ships for Rs. 1,29,999 and the Core i7 (7700HQ) ships for Rs. 1,49,999.
