A bug reportedly disrupted the global roll-out of OxygenOS 5.0 for OnePlus 5. The update has been cancelled by the company, as it was confirmed by OnePlus, and a new update will soon be released. The scoop was provided by a OnePlus staff member on the company’s official forum where the details of the upcoming update were also shared.

The OxygenOS 5.0 update was released quite recently for the OnePlus 5 that brought Android 8.0 Oreo update to the phone. This was a stable update released after two rounds of open beta releases. Besides some of the best features of Android Oreo, the phone was also confirmed to get the famed face unlock feature from OnePlus 5T.

OnePlus 5 OxygenOS 5.0

With the OxygenOS 5.0 update halted for the OnePlus 5, the company has announced to soon release the OxygenOS 5.0.1 update. This update would most probably fix the bug that caused this major disruption. The OnePlus 5 users who had already installed the Oreo update would need this update quite urgently. OnePlus has confirmed a partial roll-out soon.

Of the entire flagship lineup from OnePlus, the OnePlus 3 and 3T from 2016 became the first phones to get the OxygenOS 5.0 update with Android 8.0 Oreo. The two phones also got the OxygenOS 5.0.1 update the first. OnePlus 5, on the other hand, got the OxygenOS 5.0 last month itself. The more recent OnePlus 5T also got its first OxygenOS open beta based on Android Oreo last month. It is expected to get the stable Oreo build in a month or two.
