OnePlus has been all over the news this week for its much awaited and upgraded version of the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T. The OnePlus 5T was officially launched last week and it comes with Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box. The OnePlus 5T is expected to receive the Oreo update by December end. Meanwhile, OnePlus 3 and 3T users can enjoy Oreo.
Reportedly, OnePlus announced on their forums that OxygenOS 5.0 has already been sent out to some users and will be made public within a week or so. OnePlus 3 and 3T users are in for a treat since the manufacturers are not only providing the basic update but also some upgraded feature are supposed to be delivered with it and they are :
- Picture-in-Picture mode
- Parallel Apps feature which basically allows you to clone apps and thereby using multiple accounts.
- Upload photos directly to Shot
- New and modified Quick settings tab, notification dots and also a new app folder design.
- Also, the security patch has been updated to September.
OnePlus says that this update also includes some fixes which have been answered from the community forums.
If you don’t receive the update now, do not worry since it’s rolling out slowly as an incremental update. It’ll be available for the OnePlus 3 and 3T users very soon.
As far as OnePlus 5 and 5T is concerned, the company announced during the 5T keynote that the smartphones will get the Android Oreo update by the end of December.
