Almost a month ago Google announced the big Android Wear 5.1.1 update, and until now we have yet to see it on any device, aside from the LG Watch Urbane. According to a few Asus ZenWatch users on Reddit it is starting to change, although it doesn’t look like it is rolling out to the big masses yet, some Asus ZenWatch users are reporting that the update is hitting their devices.

The Android Wear 5.1.1 update brings a number of great features to the wearable platform, including the option to set always-on applications, new gestures for Google Now cards, and a much more refined contacts app. Maybe the most interesting features that is added by the update is that Android Wear now supports the build-in Wi-Fi chips. Which allows you to get notifications on your watch even if your watch isn’t connected to your phone. Unfortunately the Asus ZenWatch doesn’t have a build-in Wi-Fi chip, so the users can’t take advantage of the feature.
