The latest flagship offering from Samsung – the Galaxy Note 8 – has been in the market for a while. Samsung didn’t announce anything yet regarding the Android 8.0 Oreo update on the Galaxy Note 8 but some of the units are reportedly getting the official Oreo update. It is known that Samsung is testing the beta Oreo ROM for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but out of nowhere, the Galaxy Note 8 Exynos variant is getting the Oreo update.
This update comes with January 2018 security patch as well, along with other Android Oreo-based improvements and features. Right now, it doesn’t look like Samsung is conducting a soak test. As per the Reddit user Wizky911, the update suddenly arrived.

It is certainly an indication that Samsung is working on the Oreo update, for Galaxy Note 8. However, it is not clear yet when they will officially announce it. So, for now, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 owners might want to wait as the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be getting the update soon, and their device may be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo right after that.
