At a jam-packed event at MWC 2018, HMD Global today made not one but five additions to its smartphone portfolio. As expected, the Nokia 1 with Android Oreo (Go Edition) was made official at the event, along with three other smartphones under the Android One program and a 4G-enabled feature phone. HMD Global announced to have sold over 70 million units within a year of launch.
Nokia 8110
HMD Global revived another classic feature phone from the good old days, which is the Nokia 8110. The company launched the 4G-enabled feature phone with its iconic curved designed along with a sliding cover for the alphanumeric keypad. Besides this, the phone runs Smart Feature OS and HMD Global has included a native app store for the phone. The apps it can runs include Facebook, Google Maps, and it even has Google Assistant. The dual-SIM handset features a Snapdragon 205 chipset, 512MB of RAM, and 4Gb of internal storage. It has a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a 2MP camera on the back, and also new Snake game with its battery lasting for 25 days on standby. Nokia 8110 will be made available in May in Black and Banana Yellow color options for €79 (~$97/₹6,285)
Nokia 1 with Android Oreo (Go Edition)

This entry-level from the company comes preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo, as part of the Android Go program. Besides the OS, the Nokia 1 will also feature stripped-down versions of core Google apps, including Maps Go, Gmail Go, Assistant Go, and others. The phone has a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 px) IPS display and has 1GB of RAM along with a quad-core MediaTek MT6797M processor. There is a 5MP rear camera with an LED flash along with a 2MP front camera, both of which are fixed focus.
The Nokia 1 supports 4G with VoLTE, has 3.5mm headphone jack, all the basic sensors, and a 2150mah battery that can give 9 hours of talk time. HMD Global has designed the phone with removable back covers that are available in Azure, Grey, Yellow, and Pink color options, apart from the standard Dark Blue and Warm Red colors the phone will be available in. The phone will go on sale in April for a price of $85 (~₹5,500), which is the global average retail price. The Xpress-on back covers will be available for $7.99.
Nokia 6 (2018)
As part of HMD Global’s partnership with Google, all the Android-powered smartphones launched today come under the Android One program. With that, the phone will come powered by the latest iteration of Android and will stay updated with the latest security and firmware updates. The company announced the 2018 edition of the Nokia 6 in China which will now be making its way to the international markets with Android One. HMD Global has priced the phone at €279 (~$343/₹22,197) and will retail from April with three color options.
It will come powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor along with 3GB/4GB of RAM along with an internal storage of 32GB/64GB. Its display measures 5.5 inches in the old 16:9 aspect ratio and has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. There is a single 16MP camera on the back and an 8MP unit on the front along with the phone’s battery capacity of 3000mAh. Nokia 6 (2018) gets features like Bothies and face unlock along with the ability to control certain camera features using voice. Its fingerprint sensor sits on the back.
Nokia 7 Plus
This is the first Nokia phone to get an 18:9 display that measures 6 inches and comes with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and is covered with Gorilla Glass. This phone is powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor along with 4GB of RAM and expandable internal storage of 64 GB. There are two cameras on the back – 12MP wide-angle primary camera with f/1.75 aperture and a secondary 13-megapixel camera with telephoto lens and f/2.6 aperture – that help in attaining 2x optical zoom. Both of them have Zeiss lenses along with a 16MP fixed focus camera on the front.
The camera app on all the Nokia phones with Zeiss lenses will support Pro mode for tweaking with the settings. The Nokia 7 Plus has a rear-facing fingerprint scanner and sports a 3800mAh battery that has support for fast charging. Nokia has also introduced a new imaging suite that is powered by AI to bring Snapchat-like masks, animated characters, and much more. The handset is priced at €399 (~$491/₹31,744) and will be available from April.
Nokia 8 Sirocco
HMD Global’s 2018 flagship shares a lot with the Nokia 7 Plus that was launched alongside. It has a premium build with curved Gorilla Glass 5 on both the sides sandwiching a stainless-steel frame. The phone is IP67 rated for water and dust resistance, and supports wireless charging, thanks to the glass back. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor and is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The rear cameras on the Nokia 8 Sirocco are the same as the ones on Nokia 7 Plus, but it sports a 5MP camera unit for the front.

Besides using an older display, the phone has a 5.5-inch QHD pOLED display in the older 16:9 aspect ratio. Now that all Nokia Android phones will be a part of the Android One program, this phone also gets Android Oreo with a promise of an update to the Android P. It has a battery capacity of 3260mAh. The Nokia 8 Sirocco will be available from April at a price of €749 (~$921/₹59,589).
