India is one of the most important markets for OnePlus and it is evident from the fact that the OnePlus 5 will go on sale in India just two days after going official internationally. There are still a couple of days left for the phone’s announcement, but it hasn’t stopped the company from getting the phone its first TV spot in India.
What better time for a TV spot would be than an India vs Pakistan cricket match for a country that is obsessed with the sport. OnePlus aired the TV commercial during the final match of the ICC Champions Trophy today, which was watched by millions of Indians. The commercial was first spotted by Android Central.
Noted Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador for OnePlus India and he can be seen in the said commercial unboxing probably the OnePlus 5 device. It is then followed by the renders of OnePlus 5 in all its glory. The advert focuses on the camera capabilities of the phone by mentioning “Dual Camera, Clearer Photos” besides the renders along with the Indian launch date of June 22nd. “Amazon Exclusive” can also be seen written at the bottom.
The OnePlus 5 renders reveal more rounded overall design than its predecessor along with its curved sides. Though the front of the phone appeared for a split second, the bezels don’t seem to be on the thinner side. The fingerprint scanner is in the same position it earlier was, while its camera housing and antenna bands look similar to that of iPhone 7 Plus.

Earlier today, we had exclusively reported that the OnePlus 5 will sport a 4000mAh battery and will be available in three colour variants. We also got to know the Indian pricing of the phone earlier this month and the phone is expected to start from Rs. 32,999 for the 64GB variant and go up to Rs. 37,999 for the 128GB variant.
OnePlus 5 has its announcement scheduled for June 20 for all the international markets. India will get its separate launch event on June 22 and the phone will go on sale the same day in the country.
