This year Samsung lead the market by introducing bezel-less displays to the market and almost all the companies followed suit. Expectations are high this time too, especially after the recent launch of iPhone X that brings a lot to the table. According to a new report, Samsung will be launching not two but three high-end smartphones, pretty much like what Apple did this year.

Unlike Apple, Samsung will go with an entirely different approach. As per the leak on Weibo by Ice Universe, Samsung will be launching a Mini variant of the Galaxy S9 that would have the same specs as the bigger models. It will, however, sport a smaller display, but it would be the same Infinity Edge display. It might sport a display size of 5 inches that will further bring down the overall footprint of the phone.

All the three variants will be sharing the same internals and will also include dual cameras like the Galaxy Note 8 does. The report adds that the camera lenses on the Galaxy S9 series will have the BBAR coating. It is currently seen on DSLR cameras and is used to reduce glare, ghosting, and reflection. This would be the first time any smartphone camera will be getting the coating.

Samsung will still retain the good old headphone jack but the phones will come along with wireless AKG earphones. This is quite a great thing to have high-quality earphones as the in-box accessory while the devices like Pixel 2 and OnePlus 5T don’t come with one.

If the leaked images are to be believed, Samsung will address one of the most annoying issues of the Galaxy S8. The fingerprint scanner will still be on the back of the phone but will now be placed in the centre for easy access. The camera housing will also get a redesign and will be placed vertically instead of horizontally like it is in the Galaxy Note 8.

The Galaxy S9 series might go official in the first quarter of 2018. There is no confirmed launch date available as of now neither have the leaks suggested any. Samsung is also expected to update its mid-range A-series early next year with the 2018 variants of the Galaxy A5 and A7. These two phones are also expected to sport Infinity Edge displays with fingerprint scanners on the back placed in the centre.
