Tecno India made a promise that it will be launching the Camon 17 series in India as well after its launch elsewhere on May 8. Cut to now, both Camon 17 and Camon 17 Pro are now available in India and are scheduled for their first sale on Amazon India on July 26th i.e. next Monday. Here’s everything you need to know about the Camon 17 series.
Camon 17 Specifications, Price
The vanilla Camon 17 arrives with a giant 6.6-inch IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and 720×1600 pixels resolution. The device comes paired with a powerful Helio G85 SoC clocked at a max 2.0GHz along with Mali-G52 MC2.
The device has a punch-hole at the center housing a 16MP shooter while the rear camera setup sports four cameras arranged in a vertical stack in a rectangular camera bump. It houses a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide snapper, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro sensor.
Camon 17 runs on the latest HiOS 7.6 based Android 11 out-of-the-box. It comes strapped with a giant 5,000 mAh battery under the hood along with 18W fast charging which is almost half of what the Camon 17 Pro offers. However, with the price tag of Rs 12,999/- for its 6GB RAM plus 128GB storage, the price is justifiable. Apparently, there’s a smaller 4GB+128GB variant too but it isn’t available in India. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a single loudspeaker setup, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth v5.0 among others. There’s three color variant available with Tecno Camon 17 – Frost Silver, Magnet Black, and Spruce Green.
Camon 17 Pro Specifications, Price
The Camon 17 Pro arrives with a 6.8-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with 500 nits of peak brightness. The device sports a 60Hz refresh rate making it above all devices that have standard refresh rates. The device comes paired with an Helio G95 SoC under the hood paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage with up to 256GB of expandability using a microSD card.
Tecno Camon 17 Pro comes with a 64MP quad-camera setup with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and two decorative cameras with 2MP depth and 2MP macro sensor. There’s a 48MP front camera setup for video calls and selfies with an aperture of f/2.2.
The device sports a giant 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging tech which is way ahead of what the vanilla Tecno Camon 17 brings on-board. There’s two Nano SIM card support, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.0.
About the software, the device comes with the latest HiOS v7.6 based on Android 11 out-of-the-box similar to its vanilla variant.
It is priced at Rs 16,999/- for its 8G+128GB variant which is the only available storage option along with a single Arctic Down color option.
