Apple Fitness+, the company’s subscription‑based fitness and wellness service, will officially launch in India on December 15. This marks its biggest expansion since debuting nearly five years ago, with Apple confirming the rollout in today’s announcement.
Apple Fitness+ for more users worldwide
With the expansion, users in 49 countries and regions will get access to a wide library of guided workouts and meditation sessions on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Those with an Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3 can also see personal fitness metrics in real time, adding motivation and helping track progress.
“Through its seamless integration across Apple devices, Fitness+ has helped inspire users to live a healthier day,” said Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies. He noted that Apple is excited to bring its fitness service to more people around the world than ever before.
Workouts and personal guidance
Apple Fitness+ offers 12 workout types, including Strength, Yoga, HIIT, Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing, and more. Sessions range from five minutes to 45 minutes, making them accessible for both beginners and experienced users. With Custom Plans, subscribers can personalize workout schedules based on preferred activities, duration, trainers, and music. Onscreen metrics such as heart rate, calories burned, Activity ring progress, and the Burn Bar keep users motivated and informed throughout their workouts.
Motivation tools for personal fitness goals
Apple highlighted that music is central to the Fitness+ experience, thanks to deep integration with Apple Music. Users can pick from energetic genres like Upbeat Anthems, Latest Hits, Latin Grooves, and Hip‑Hop/R&B. Soon, a new K‑Pop workout category will roll out across the platform, featuring global artists and trending hits.
Fitness+ keeps users motivated with a variety of features designed to encourage consistency. The Artist Spotlight series offers full workout playlists dedicated to one popular artist, including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, BTS, Selena Gomez, and Coldplay.
The platform also provides Time to Walk, an audio experience where influential figures share personal stories, photos, and music to inspire users during walks. Through Collections, subscribers can follow curated sets of workouts and meditations built around specific goals or interests, like preparing for a first 5K or enjoying nostalgic 90s‑style dance routines. Meditation is another key element, with 12 themed practices aimed at improving sleep, reducing stress, building mindfulness, and fostering self‑connection.
