  • Apple is rolling out iPhone Fold, it's first foldable phone, in September 2026.
  • It is likely to get a price tag of $1,999 as per JPMorgan although previous reports quoted $2,100 to $2,300 as the price tag.
  • The phone launches in September next year competing with a tonne of pre-existing foldable phones including Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 launching in July/August next year as well.

Apple is preparing for the iPhone 17 lineup this September; however, there’s a lot of enthusiasm for a significant launch – iPhone Fold, coming not earlier than September 2026. Apparently, we now have iPhone Fold pricing predictions from JPMorgan that paint a slightly different picture than what Digital Chat Station (DCS) told us just a few days ago.

Get ready for the September 2026 launch and $1,999 price tag on the iPhone Fold

According to JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee, the upcoming Apple iPhone Fold could arrive in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 lineup. Apparently, the price tag as projected is $1,999/- or CNY 14,400/-. For context, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 was recently launched at CNY 13,999/-, and that ultimately makes Apple’s foldable a tad bit expensive.

A previous DCS post on Weibo revealed the iPhone Fold could be priced at CNY 15,999/-. If that turns out to be true, we are watching an insane price tag between the competitors. This could completely annihilate the assumptions on Apple being late to the party but better in implementation, an image it had made for years, but seemingly distorted with the rollout of Apple Intelligence against Galaxy AI, the latter is much better.

Circling back to iPhone Fold, the phone is expected to ship with a 5.5” outer and a 7.8” inner foldable panel. A previous report mentioned how Apple wants to minimize the creases on the display that could give it an insane USP compared to the Galaxy Z Fold8 that will be launched in July next year. It goes without saying that Samsung is a handful of generations ahead in terms of foldable displays; it remains to be seen how Apple actually manages to pull off this feat with its debut.

The JPMorgan analyst further adds that the $1,999 entry price tag is much lower than what was earlier expected, between $2,100 and $2,300. It could generate a revenue of $65 billion thanks to the brand association and the tech that comes with it – aka the foldable tech. Estimates suggest Apple is expected to ship a few million units in fiscal 2027, eventually climbing to the mid-40s of millions by fiscal 2029.’

Of course, these are just estimates; the actual might differ given Apple hasn’t confirmed the official launch of its fold yet. It might push the launch if things didn’t work out as planned, but again, you can stay positive and update with our take on the Apple iPhone Fold right here.
