We know that Apple might seem like the best company to work at for employees and it is a dream for many to join this prestigious company.
However, those who have already been working inside the company will know exactly how it is to work for the Cupertino-based company.
And this is not to say that the company has a bad working environment but it seems like employees are tempted to work for different companies.
Because Apple is trying hard to stop their employees from joining Facebook’s parent company Meta. In order to do that, Apple is providing bonuses to its employees.
As per a report from Bloomberg, Apple is offering stock bonuses to its employees in order to stop them from switching to Meta. These stock bonuses are reportedly worth as much as $180,000 to software engineers and Apple hopes that this will convince them to stay at the company.
Not only Meta, Apple’s software engineers who are looking at other big tech giants to join them are also offered bonuses to stop them from switching. As per the report, “The stock grants reportedly take four years to fully vest, giving the employees a reason to stay with the company”.
It is also reported that there is a scarcity of software engineers right now in Silicon Valley. And in the last few months, Meta has hired away close to 100 software engineers from Apple alone. This has made Apple take action and stop their best software engineers from switching by offering perks.
In December, Apple also provided $1000 in cash bonus to all its employees across the company in a move that was said to encourage work from home. One thing that employees don’t like about Apple is its strict policy to return to the office.
However, this was prior to increasing Covid-19 cases all across the world. But Apple’s stubbornness to bring everyone back to the office has left some employees angry. This is because other companies like Meta and Google have allowed their employees to work from home permanently.
