The uber-popular iPhone 12 series made a bang after its launch. The four models i.e. iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 mini are now available in most regions while two of the models are awaiting shipping in the coming days. Turns out, iPhone 12 is the most popular model from Apple. To signify it, Apple has reportedly asked its supply chain partners to ramp up 2 million units for iPhone 12 due to exceptionally strong demand.
As per Cinda Securities, the predictions with iPhone 12 series are expected to exceed expectations. As per the predictions, Apple is expected to ship 80 to 85 million units of iPhone 12 series by the end of the fourth quarter of this year. It is perhaps expected to ship around 230 to 240 million units in 2021 given the massive popularity the new series has achieved.
There are a number of reasons why the iPhone 12 series is expecting such an exceptional sales volume. It reportedly sold 7-9 million units of the iPhone 12 series on its pre-orders in just a few days which gives a glimpse at the scale that we are talking about. The 5G, OLED panels, slim build, and flat build are reminiscent of the iPhone 5s series or so.
According to the predictions by Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is expected with a sales volume of around 60-70% while the other two i.e. iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will get a 15-20% share of the pie each. Since it is coming from a credible source, it holds much reputation although it is still too early to gauge if the predictions are fulfilled or not.
