Almost every month we witness a launch of a new flagship Smartphone. The competition between Smartphones is at its peak. Phone manufacturers are trying something new and innovative to attract customers to their products, be it the SBike mode in Samsung phones or front facing flash for selfie lovers. Here’s a list of some Innovative Flagship Smartphones and their features which make them standout.
HTC 10-BoomSound Hi-Fi
HTC made its comeback in flagship Smartphone market with the 10. The phone is one of the best flagships in the market, be it in terms of design, performance or camera. What gives the phone an edge over other Flagships is its sound quality. Though the old front facing dual speakers setup of BoomSound is gone, it is replaced by a much better two speaker setup, with one in front and one on the base. Each speaker has its own amplifier and a separate tweeter and woofer. Even the headphone amp is a high powered one and HTC is also providing truly impressive in-box headphones to give you a great music experience. HTC’s flagship clearly has an advantage over other flagships in terms of music.
BlackBerry Priv-Physical Keyboard
BlackBerry was the company that brought QWERTY keypad to mobile phones. It was the company which truly started the concept of Smartphone. So when in 2015 they launched their first Android phone-The Priv, it was a gamechanger for the company. It meant their entry in Android market. BlackBerry came out with all hands on deck with the Priv. The highlight of the phone is the presence of a physical QWERTY keypad which slides out from the bottom. No flagship offers a physical keypad, giving BlackBerry a clear advantage. The sliding design not only makes typing easier, it also gives a feeling of Nostalgia.
LG G5-Modular Design
When rumors of LG’s latest flagship having a removable battery began to emerge, the phone managed to get people excited even before its launch. In a time when all major flagships have ditched removable battery, LG decided to provide an option to the user to swap out the phone’s battery. When LG unveiled the G5, the company changed the concept of removable batteries. Not only could the phone’s battery was removable, the phone had additional modules that could connect with it. Two modules are available right now, a CAM plus camera module which provides manual controls for the camera and a HI-FI DAC enabled module for a cleaner and crispier music experience. Though only two modules are available right now, LG has released API for the developers to increase the number of modules. No flagship offers removable battery and a modular design ,thus there is no real competition for the G5 in this department.
IPhone 6s/6sPlus – 3D Touch
Whenever Apple launches its new IPhone Apple fans get excited. But after the launch of IPhone 6s and 6s plus, even hardcore Android fans got excited. The phone contains a pressure sensitive screen (dubbed 3d touch by Apple). 3d touch responds to the pressure with which the screen is pressed. Users can customize different shortcuts or functions, further enhancing their experience. After Apple released a source code for 3d touch, more and more developers have begun to take advantage of this feature. Though new Android phones are expected to launch with pressure sensitive display, until their launch Apple is the only company that offers this feature.
Samsung Galaxy S7- Curved Screen Display
There is no doubt Samsung makes one of the best Smartphone displays in the world. So when Samsung Galaxy S6 edge was launched last year, the curved screen concept impressed almost everyone. This year Samsung decided to further enhance the curved screen experience adding different shortcuts and customization for the S7 edge. The result is a phone with a beautiful curved screen, an equally beautiful camera and a beast in terms of performance. The screen size is greater than that of Galaxy S7. With no other flagship offering the type of screen the S7 edge offers, the phone clearly has an Edge (no pun intended) over its competitors.
