Apple is gearing up for its next big launch aka iPhone 13 series this September and rumor mills have already started churning out leaks about it. A successor to iPhone SE 2020 is also in the making and it is expected to arrive in the first half of next year.
According to a new report, the Cupertino-based tech giant has started hiring chip probing specialists through Xintec which is a TSMC subsidiary. Xintec has been associated with Apple ever since it launched iPhone SE in 2016 and this puts a lot of weight on the upcoming “iPhone SE 3” as it has been called by tipsters and leaksters.
Research analyst Ming-Chi Kuo earlier mentioned that the upcoming iPhone SE 3 will get an updated processor under the hood. It is now speculated that the upcoming iPhone will surely have the Apple A14 Bionic chipset that powers the iPhone 12 series. The iPhone SE 3 will have 5G capability and it is likely to be advertised as the most affordable 5G iPhone out there once it arrives.
The iPhone SE 3 is likely to retain the same design as last year’s iPhone SE. This means both the 4.7-inch display and Touch ID sensor along with thick bezels around the edges will be put on iPhone SE 3 as well.
To put things into context, the iPhone SE 2020 arrived with a 4.7-inch IPS LCD panel with a 750×1334 pixels resolution. The device was powered by an Apple A13 Bionic chip along with 3GB of RAM and up to 25*GB of storage options. The device arrived with a 1,821 mAH battery under the hood. About the optics, the device had a 7MP selfie shooter paired with a 12MP camera at the back with OIS support.
iPhone SE 2020 made its debut with a $399 pricing in the U.S. Since iPhone SE 3 will have a newer chipset and 5G connectivity, it is bound to be a little more expensive. However, we will have to wait for more information that should arrive soon.
