Apple will have one of its biggest days in history and also one of the most important this year because the WWDC 2020 is just around the corner. In just a few hours time, we will be able to watch the keynote which is like an opening speech, to sum up, everything that Apple is going to reveal at this year’s developer conference while finer details will be shared in the coming days. The Apple WWDC keynote is also one of the most viewed events because it is understood to everyone and not just developers.
There were reports going around that this year’s WWDC 2020 keynote is going to be awesome because Apple will announce their hardware along with their latest software at the same time. However, we have had subsequent reports in the last 24 hours that have revealed that “no hardware announcements” are expected later this evening or morning depending on your location.
While this is definitely a major disappointment because of the fact that we were expecting the company to announce its refreshed iMac coming with much slimmer bezels and a new chassis. Along with that, it was said that Apple’s AirPods Studio headphones, as well as AirTags and many other products, were going to be revealed today.
We are unlikely to see them now but there is a new report that reveals the first Mac devices from Apple that will come with ARM-based processors. One thing is for sure that Apple will announce its switch from Intel to their in-house processors tonight.
Thus, this new report reveals the first Mac devices that are coming with their ARM-based chips and they are going to be the 13-inch Macbook Pro and the 24-inch iMac as per Ming Chi-Kuo.
Kuo is a famous Apple analyst who shares notes with Apple investors so as to guide them about the company’s future plans and let them make an informed decision about their investments. In this way, we can also know what Apple is planning and it is surprising that Apple will have its ARM-based chip on the Macbook Pro rather than the Macbook Air or the 12-inch Macbook.
This is also a clear signal from Apple that they really believe in their ARM chips which are energy-efficient as well as powerful at the same time. Because a Macbook Pro is advertised for professional users who need as much performance as they get.
As for the 24-inch iMac, it is even more interesting because an iMac is a desktop-replacement which also tells you about the performance expectations from the device. So Apple is sending a clear message to the likes of Intel, AMD and other chipmakers in the same space like Qualcomm that they have everything under control.
