Asus is back with a zing thanks to the next-gen Asus ROG Phone 6 series launched earlier on July 5th powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood and up to 18GB of RAM. Both the modes under the ROG Phone 6 series sport an AMOLED panel along with a 165Hz refresh rate among others. The Asus ROG Phone 6 arrives in Europe at EUR999 for its 12GB RAM and 256GB variants. On the other hand, the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro with 512GB storage and 18GB RAM gives you a price tag of EUR1,299.

Specs-wise, both the models are topnotch. The display tech mounted on both ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro is a 6.78” AMOLED panel boosting 1080×2448 pixels resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate which fluctuates from 60Hz to 165Hz based on requirements. The device boasts a 720Hz touch sampling rate which is twice that of a myriad of flagship phones. There are 1200 nits of peak brightness in the auto mode when it comes to the display.
Moving on, both the phones draw power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired alongside LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage with no way to increase the storage. According to Asus, the newly overhauled cooling system can lower temperatures by 10° Celsius which is great given the fact that the Asus ROG Phone 6 series is gaming-oriented. The software onboard is an Android 12 with Zen UI and ROG UI which is sweet.

It includes a 12MP Sony IMX663 front and a triple rear camera comprising of a Sony IMX766 50MP shooter, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro shooter. There’s IPX4 splash resistant, Dirac Virtuo Spatial audio, dual front-facing speakers, a headphone jack, and triple microphones onboard. Just like the predecessors, you get programmable AirTrigger ultrasonic buttons that you can map accordingly.
