Asus alike others has been rendering hype all around the budget smartphone market in order to emphasise their duly upcoming device, Asus Zenfone Max Indian Edition, which is ultimately an upgraded version of the older Zenfone Max. 12:30PM IST was the time when they pulled off the curtains to unveil their device. There is no specific name associated to the upgraded Zenfone Max, except we would like to call it the Indian Edition, just because of it’s purpose of engineering; specially made for the second largest smartphone market – India. We unboxed the phone and here is our video with the unboxing and initial impressions:
Especially for the Indian consumers (as Asus said), they have an upgraded version of Asus Zenfone made, they’ve pushed the specs to bump up their game and glow more observably into the budget and user choice specific smartphone market. The Indian Edition comes onboard with a 2GB or a 3GB of RAM on choice. It also brings an upgraded camera, sporting a 13MP sensor on the back and a 5MP front facing sensor. Both of them seem to perform well at the first impression, however we’ll be sure to bring more on them in the final review.
The upgraded version of the Zenfone Max also brings a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 615
1.5 GHz, Octa-Core chipset, 3GB inbuilt storage and 64GB expandable storage which in-all push the performance to a step ahead. It also comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow onboard.
The phone brings a plastic backing that borrows a leather texture along with a metal embossed Asus logo, laser autofocus, the 13MP camera, a dual-tone LED flashlight and a speaker grill. The front has the usual and iconic Asus chin, non-backlit touch sensitive buttons, the earpiece, Asus Logo and the 5MP camera. The power button and the volume rockers are on the right hand side of the phone, sitting on the metal coverage over the sides.

India, May 23, 2016: ASUS today launched the advanced version of one of its best-selling smartphones in the country – Zenfone Max. Known for its 5000 mAh battery and stylish looks, the smartphone is meant for users who are always on the move and demand superior performance along with an elegant style. The new Zenfone Max is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor and provides the users an option to opt for a 2GB or 3GB RAM. The internal memory of the phone has now been increased to 32GB, in addition to an expandable memory of up to 64GB. Zenfone Max with 2GB RAM is available for Rs. 9,999 and can be pre-ordered on Flipkart while Zenfone Max with 3GB RAM is available for Rs. 12,999 and can be purchased from Amazon, Snapdeal and Flipkart. The 3GB RAM variant will also be available at ASUS Exclusive stores and all other retail stores across India, at a later date.
Equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, the Zenfone Max can last longer without charging and is also capable of being a power bank for other gadgets making it an essential product for daily use.
