We already know that the Taiwanese tech giant Asus is working on its next ROG gaming smartphone dubbed ROG Phone 3. Asus ROG Phones have always been packed with the best-in-class hardware and comes with stunning design. Recently, ROG Phone 3 was spotted on China’s TENAA website which revealed a ton of information about the device including its design. Now, a hands-on image and a video of the ROG Phone 3 were leaked online which reconfirms all the specifications which we came to know through the previous promotional images and TENAA listing.

Talking about the hands-on image first, it was posted by a regular Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station who is often referred to as DCS. The image shows the back panel of the device. When you look at the image, you can immediately notice that the ROG Phone 3 comes with triple rear camera setup. If looked closely, the phone has a ’64 MP Quad Bayer’ branding just below the camera setup. This confirms that the device comes with 64 MP primary sensors which will use the quad-Bayer technology which produces 16 MP pixel-binned shots.

Last year’s ROG Phone 2 came with a dual-rear camera setup with 48 MP primary sensor and a 13 MP ultra-wide sensor. In the world of smartphone manufacturers who add in a macro or depth sensor and brag about their triple or quad-rear camera setups, a third telephoto sensor on the ROG Phone 3 is definitely a worthy addition. Also, the same DCS posted a second photo of ROG Phone 3 where the device is showcased with a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom of the device. Don’t get very much excited right now as the TENAA listing specifically states that there is no presence of headphone jack.

Just like the previous ROG Phones, the hands-on image shows that the device shows a glass panel on the back with that game-inspired design language which ROG logo with RGB lighting. Also, it is worth talking about the Tencent Games branding on the device. A few reports in the past have suggested that ROG Phone 3 will arrive in a special edition variant too. Considering the Tencent Games branding, the leaked hands-on image could possibly be the ROG Phone 3 Special Edition itself. Last year’s Tencent ROG Phone 2 was significantly cheaper than the original ROG Phone 2 but was limited to China itself. Chances are we could have a similar scenario with Tencent ROG Phone 3 too.

The hands-on video of the ROG Phone 3 also comes to us from Weibo by the user Feiwei. But the video was taken down now. The video showcases the front and back of the device. If you watch the video, you can immediately notice that the bezels here are very huge in the current smartphone terms. The device comes with a large footprint and looks very bulky just like its predecessor. The volume rockers and the power key have resided to the right of the device itself. Also, one cannot easily confirm the existence of the headphone jack from this hands-on video.
