Xiaomi 15S Pro is probably in the works as it appeared on Geekbench recently. Codenamed 25042PN24C, the phone is likely a premium version of Xiaomi 15 Pro powered by a rather lesser-known Surge series of chipsets fabricated by Xiaomi. We tried unwrapping certain details about the upcoming phone and here’s what we found out.
Xiaomi 15S Pro In The Works Powered By Surge S2 SoC
A latest listing on Geekbench showcases an unreleased smartphone, probably Xiaomi 15S Pro in the works. Apparently, the device is using the same 90W fast charging tech as Xiaomi 15 Pro. However, it does lack satellite communication or at least, there’s no mention of the feature that we have seen with Xiaomi 15 Pro (China).
Xiaomi rolled out the anticipated Xiaomi 15 Series last year in China, however, it is only in February that the phones will actually make it to the global markets. The phone will likely come in April 2025 citing the model number that mentions “2504”. However, take it with a pinch of salt as there’s no official confirmation from the Chinese brand yet.
Xiaomi 15S Pro is expected to be powered by Surge S2, a chipset built on a 3nm node and based on ARM cores. To draw parallels, tech enthusiasts suggest it could be similar to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. If true, this pushes the Xiaomi 15S Pro a series backward compared to Snapdragon 8 Elite devices although that remains to be seen.
We saw Surge S1 on-board Mi 5c in 2017. It means Xiaomi must have come a long way since then to launch a flagship chipset although its performance might be a concern of dispute among buyers.
