We’re already aware of the fact that Google is working on their next-generation flagship smartphone, the Pixel 3 series. Just like their previous offerings, the device would come in two different variants – the smaller Google Pixel 3 and the larger Google Pixel 3 XL. The smartphones are expected to go official somewhere around October 4. Although the launch is two months away, the leak cloud just can’t stop expanding.
As per the recent report by MobileSyrup, Google Pixel 3 XL just got pictured in Toronto on what it appears to be a TTC subway. In the pictures, a user appears to be using the upcoming larger variant of the Pixel 3. MobileSyrup managed to click some shots from the front as well as the back. Of course, we’re talking about the pre-production unit but there should not be a drastic change in the official unit.
Google Pixel 3 XL to come with a deep notch on the front
As per the previous leaks, the Pixel 3 XL is supposed to feature a deep notch on the front housing two front-facing cameras. This image lines up with the previous leaks so expect a notch no matter what. Other than that, you can notice tiny bezels on the side and somewhat small chin. The back of the device features a single camera setup with black glass subtly blending with the grey material. Well, the back is clearly identical with the previous generation of Pixel devices.
Talking about the leaked specifications, the Pixel 3 XL will sport a massive 6.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and the resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. There is a deep notch on the front which looks odd looking at the ongoing trends. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. In terms of optics, there is a 12MP single camera on the back while there are two front-facing sensors on the front. There is an 8MP selfie snapper while the other one seems to be used for advanced facial recognition. All of this runs on 3,430 mAh battery which seems to pretty small for the large screen and the latest Android 9.0 Pie.
Previously, an unboxing video of the device surfaced online revealing the in-box content. Surprisingly, there were Google headphones bundled in which is nice. Apart from that, there was a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter because the bundled earphones are of Type-C.
