Highlights
  • Google Tensor G4 SoC appears on AnTuTu smashing scores compared to Tensor G3.
  • It will be the last of Tensor APs fabbed by Samsung before Google moves to 2nd-gen 3nm process from TSMC for Tensor G5 SoC.
  • Google Pixel 9 Series is all set to launch in October with a new design language as spotted in leaked hands-on images.

Tensor G4 SoC that will power the Google Pixel 9 Series devices partially customized as Tensor AP by Google, and we just spotted the offerings on AnTuTu. The chipset is all set to power Pixel 9 series devices this fall as the last to be developed by Samsung Foundry before Google moves on to use TSMC’s second-gen 3nm process for next year’s Tensor G5 SoC.

A tipster Rozetked posted AnTuTu scores for the upcoming Tensor G4 SoC. Fabbed on Samsung Foundry’s 4nm process, the chipset comprises a 1+3+4 cores setup. It includes a high-performance Cortex-X4 CPU core at 3.1GHz, 3x performance-efficiency Cortex-A720 SoC clocked at up to 2.6GHz plus 4x Cortex-A520 efficiency cores clocked at 1.95GHz. The AnTuTu scores for the same are at 1,071,616 points for Pixel 9; 1,071,616 points for Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL gets 1,148,452 points.

When compared, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro powered by Tensor G4 SoC hit the AnTuTu benchmarks at 9,000,000 and 1,142,984 points, respectively. This puts the upcoming Pixel 9 series at a fair advantage thanks to the upgraded Tensor AP. However, these AnTuTu scores were likely performed on early models of both the Pixel 9 series and Tensor G4 SoC highlighting the actual results may worry.

Google Pixel 9 series is all set to launch in October this year, as usual. It will comprise at least two models — Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, although a third model is likely to be added to the series. It will be dubbed as Pixel 9 Pro XL as you can see the AnTuTu scores for it as well.

Earlier in May 2024, we got to see live images of what we assume are the Google Pixel 9 series. The trio looks super crisp with a high-end slab-style design, premium finish, and a humongous pill-shaped camera visor covering the rear dual and triple camera setup.

When it comes to the specs (that we are aware of), the Pixel 9 series likely comes with a baseline of 12GB and maxes at 16GB of RAM. The screen sizes for the trio are 6.24” (Pixel 9), 6.34” (Pixel 9 Pro), and 6.73” (Pixel 9 Pro XL), respectively. The design, if true, looks way classier than the last-gen Pixel 8 series thanks to the upgraded camera visor and a flat back that might give out a reminiscence of iPhone designs unless you don’t want to like that way. In any case, the Pixel 9 series designs look way better than we earlier expected.

Watch out for the mega launch of the Google Pixel 9 series this October. In case you forget, stay tuned on True-Tech to get the latest tech news.
