It’s August 13 and Google’s Pixel hardware event is right around the corner. However, it has stopped leaks from pouring in, has it? We just got our hands on one of the largest Pixel Buds Pro 2 leaks that sheds light on the earbuds featuring Tensor-branded audio chips for the first time along with AI features.
Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 Leaks Gives It All
Thanks to the courtesy of tipster @MysteryLupin on X, Pixel Buds Pro 2 is touted to become the first-ever chipset powered by Google’s Tensor A1 audio chip. If you say the original Buds Pro had a custom chip too, you would be right, however, it was Tensor-branded, and thus, Buds Pro 2 will have a slightly unique proposition when it arrives at the Pixel hardware event.
Apart from the chipset, the latest Pixel Buds Pro 2 leaks suggest improved sound processing delivering premium and immersive audio. The active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature is set to get a revamp as well, delivering twice as improved ANC compared to the first-gen Buds Pros launched last year.
The upcoming Pixel Buds Pro 2 will bring AI features that are selling like hotcakes nowadays. There will be a conversation detection feature on-board that kicks in pausing playback when it detects the wearer speaking. There’s an AI feature for hearing wellness on-board as well that crunches numbers when you use it and notifies should the volume go above a certain point protecting your hearing.
Pixel Buds Pro 2 Will Be ‘HUGE’
According to the leak, Pixel Buds Pro 2 will have a multi-device connection and fast pair feature making it easier for users to switch between Pixel devices. You should be able to find your ‘lost’ buds on the Find My Device network as well although take this bit with a pinch of salt.
Of course, not everything is great about Buds Pro 2. The leaked screenshot reveals a battery life of 30 hours with the case and 8 hours on the buds themselves. It is a much steeper downgrade compared to 31 hours on the case and 11 hours for the buds on the original Buds Pro. This could be a deal breaker for many as even I don’t want to constantly charge my buds fearing the battery would run out as a power user.
