Last year Nokia stole the show at MWC Barcelona and as the dates of MWC 2018 come closer, HMD Global is hinting that this time as well Nokia will go loud and grab the attention. Last year, HMD Global launched the nostalgic Nokia 3310 and unveiled the first batch of their Android-powered smartphones, this time, probably Nokia 9 is something that we can expect at flagship level and also the Android Oreo Go Edition powered Nokia 1.

HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas on Thursday tweeted this:

He didn’t mention any product names, neither did he reveal what they are working on. But we can still expect a couple of new smartphones from Nokia. This year, we are expecting to see the new Nokia 1, Nokia 4, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 (2018), and Nokia 9. The Nokia 9 will be a flagship device from the brand and will put Nokia along with Samsung and LG in the smartphone race. It is also rumoured that Nokia is working on a 4G enabled variant of the classic Nokia 3310 and the phone was recently spotted on the TENAA certification site.

This year, Nokia 9 is expected to steal the show, being a flagship device and coming with top-notch specs, as the rumours suggest. The Nokia 9 may feature a dual selfie camera setup and a bezel-less display. The phone may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It is also reported to have 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel camera sensors on the back and a 3250mAh battery with fast charging support. Some rumours also suggest that the Nokia 9 may have more than one variant and also, it is almost confirmed that Nokia 9 will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

The next big thing could be the Nokia 1, which will be a budget smartphone being powered by Android Oreo Go, which will boost the sales for sure considering the low price tag and the brand value of Nokia in countries like India. Some rumours suggest that the Nokia 1 will come with 720p HD IPS display, 1GB RAM, and 8GB onboard storage.
