After months of leaks and rumors, Honor finally unveiled its flagship series of smartphones — Honor 30, Honor 30 Pro, and Honor 30 Pro +. Now, it looks like the company is pledged to the Pro+ moniker this year. Just a few days ago, the parent company of Honor, the Huawei tossed in its flagship devices of this year – Huawei P40 Series. All the three devices Honor launched today share a similar design with a punch-hole display notch, OLED display, and rectangular rear camera setup.
The Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro + share almost similar specifications in regards with performance, battery, and display. The major differences are found only within the camera, storage, and charging departments. The Honor 30, on the other hand, is a mid-range flagship with a slightly toned down performance compared to the Pro variants.
Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro + Specifications
Both the Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro + share a similar design and looks the same. The main difference here is with the cameras, more on that later. Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro + are both equipped with a 6.57-inch OLED QHD+ displays with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. These two are the first devices from the brand which features 90 Hz displays. The display also offers a 70 degrees curvature at the edges and comes with a screen to body ratio of 89.8%. The aspect ratio of this display is 19.5:9. Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro + measures 8.38mm in thickness and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
Underneath the hood, the Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro + are powered by flagship HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G chipsets. Mali-G77 handles the graphic duties here. Kirin 990 is a high-end SoC that can outperform any task thrown at it. Gaming on this device will be a paradise for gamers considering the powerful SoC coupled with a 90 Hz display refresh rate. Talking about the storage options, the Honor 30 Pro will be available in two variants — 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage and 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Honor 30 Pro + on the other hand, also will be made available in two variants — 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of onboard storage and a higher 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of onboard storages. The storage on both these smartphones can is expandable with a microSD card.
As for the optics, the Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro + flaunt a triple-rear camera setup. The Honor 30 Pro features a primary 40 MP RYYB IMX600 sensor with a 1/1.7-inch sensor whereas the Honor 30 Pro + boasts a 50 MP UltraVision MX700 large 1/1.28-inch sensor found on the P40 Pro. The second and third sensors on both these devices are the same ones. The secondary is a 16 MP ultra-wide sensor 17mm focal length and the third sensor is an 8 MP periscope lens with 5X optical zoom, 10X hybrid zoom, 50X digital zoom. On the front, there is a dual-camera setup with 32 MP Primary selfie shooter coupled with 8 MP Ultra-Wide shooter.
Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro + runs Android 10 out of the box with Magic UI 3.1.0 skin on top. Magic UI is a feature-rich user interface but do that we still out the Google Play Service in these devices due to the recent ban. The in-display fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C and, headphone jack an account here. All this is backed by a 4000 mAh battery which does support 40 W fast charging. The Honor 30 Pro + additionally support a 27 W wireless fast charging and reverse wireless charging as well!
Honor 30 Specifications
The Honor 30 is the lower and economic variant amount the series of two other devices. Although the three devices in this series feature a similar design, the Honor 30 boasts a relatively smaller 6.53-inch OLED display contrasting the 6.57-inch displays found on the Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro Plus. The resolution of this display is FHD+. Sadly, Honor 30 will miss out on the 90 Hz display refresh rate. The refresh rate is just 60 Hz, nothing fancy here! The curvature display and higher screen to body ratios also make a return here. The aspect ratio here remains 19.5:9 and display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass as one would expect.
Talking about the performance department, the Honor 30 Pro is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 985 processor. Mali-G76 handles the graphic duties here. The Kirin 985 is the latest SoC from the company which is technically a slightly toned-down version of the Kirin 990 found on the Pro variants. Although it is less powerful compared to the Honor 30 Pro and 30 Pro +, it retains the integrated 5G chipset. Honor 30 is made available in three variants. The lower variant comes with a 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. There is also an 8 GB RAM variant with 128 GB of onboard storage. The higher variant packs an 8 GB of RAM again but is coupled with 256 GB of internal storage.
Strangely Honor 30 features a quad rear camera setup contrasting the triple rear setups found on the Pro variants. The Honor 30 features a primary 40 MP RYYB IMX600 sensor with a 1/1.7-inch sensor, the same sensor found on the Honor 30 Pro. The wide-angle sensor here is an 8 Megapixel unit with the same 17mm field of view. The periscope camera with 50X optical zoom and 10X hybrid zoom takes a return here. The fourth sensor is a 2 MP macro sensor.

The 6 GB + 128 GB variant of Honor 30 is priced at RMB 2,999 (roughly 32,500 INR), 8 GB + 128 GB is priced at RMB 3,199 (roughly 34,600 INR), and the higher 8 GB + 256 GB is priced at RMB 3,499 (roughly 37,890 INR). The Honor 30 Pro is priced at RMB 3,999 (roughly 43,000) for 8 GB + 128 GB variant and RMB 4,399 (roughly 47,600) for 8 GB + 256 GB storages. Honor 30 Pro +, on the other hand, starts at RMB 4,999 which roughly translates to 54,000 INR. All these three devices will go on sale starting April 21st and as for the Global launch, there is no official announcement as of now!
