Turns out HTC is still around. HTC made some heads turn as the company has silently launched a mid-range 5G smartphone aptly named HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G. HTC has published some information about the specs and more about the phone along with its pricing and availability on its Taiwanese website.
According to the specifications, HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G sports a giant 6.7-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate which is 50 percent higher than regular smartphones. It can also show HDR10 content along with it.
The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset along with 128GB of internal storage along with 8GB of RAM and there’s also a slot to expand memory further. However, there’s no other storage configurations available with the device at least at the money. The cherry on the cake is that the device supports 5G network and supports both SA and NSA bands.
About the design, the device sports a front puch-hole cut-out at the center along with a quad camera setup arranged in a vertical manner in a rectangular shaped camera bump. The chin is considerably thick and so its top bezels and yes, the display is flat but of course.
Going further, we get a quad-camera setup housing a 48MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, 8MP secondary ultrawide sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor on-board. Finally, we have a 16MP front shooter on-board to capture great selfies on the go.
Next up, the Desire 21 Pro 5G sports a massive 5,000 mAh battery under the hood and it cannot be removed. There’s a 18W fast charging tech that charges the battery pretty fast although it is still a massive battery and thus, it would take some time to juice it up entirely.
Desire 21 Pro 5G supports all major GPS navigation systes, Bluetooth 5.1 with LE and A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11/a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and so on.
Talking about the pricing, the device is already up for pre-orders now in Taiwan with a price tag of TWD 11,990 or $30. The device is available in two color variants i.e. Purple and Blue. However, the company hasn’t commented on its global release as of now.
