Huawei details stable EMUI 11 update rollout schedule

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei unveiled the EMUI 11 in September 2020 with plenty of updates. It includes multi-screen collaboration 3.0, split-screen multi-tasking, animated always-on display, and more. Huawei has dropped EMUI 11 as a beta update on a series of flagship smartphones including Huawei P40, P40 Pro, Mate 30 Pro, Mate X, among others. Some of the devices have received an announcement of its beta program that commences soon.

The OEM just released an EMUI 11 stable update rollout schedule for India, Northeast Europe (NEU), Western Europe (WE), Asia – Pacific, Latin America, Japan, and the Middle East, Africa, Russia (MEA & Africa). It covers the entire Huawei P40 series, Mate 20 series, as well as individual models such as Nova 7, Nova 5T, MatePad Pro, and others.

Talking about the Huawei P40 series which comprises P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro+, the entire series is slated to get the stable EMUI 11 in December 2020 across Northeast and Western Europe, Asia – Pacific, MEA & Russia. Users in Latin America will get their updates in January 2021. There’s no timeline for variants in India and Japan for this series.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro will get EMUI 11 in December 2020 in WE, NEU, Asia – Pacific, MEA & Russia. Latin America will get the update in January 2021. Next up, the Huawei Mate Xs will get EMUI 11 stable update in January across all regions except Japan. The Huawei Nova 7 on the other hand will seed out the EMUI 11 update in Asia – Pacific and MEA & Russia in January 2021.

The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are scheduled to get the update in Q1 2021 i.e. between January and March across all regions. Here, the P30 Pro isn’t listed in Japan while the P30 schedule is not listed for India.

Proceeding further, the Huawei Mate 20 series comprises Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 X 5G. It will get an EMUI update in Q1 2021 across WE, Asia – Pacific, and MEA & Africa. Here, the Mate 20 X 5G will get upgraded to EMUI 11 in NEU in Q1 2021. The Mate 20 Pro will get the update in India in Q1 2021 along with Latin America and Japan additionally. The Mate 20 gets the update in all regions except Japan during Q2 2021.

Huawei MatePad Pro will intercept the update in all regions while the MatePad Pro 5G upgrades to EMUI 11 in Asia – Pacific, MEA & Africa only. The Nova 5T gets the upgrade in all regions by Q1 2021 i.e. between January and March 2021 and the same goes for MediaPad M6 10.8 except that the device won’t get updated in Japan at least not in the first quarter.

This concludes the EMUI 11 rollout schedule that Huawei will follow across all the regions. Huawei has released HarmonyOS 2.0 which is an in-house operating system. If that is true, there won’t be an EMUI 12 based on Android but that remains to be uncovered.
