Now that smartphone manufacturers are dropping the much-needed 3.5mm headphone jack, Huawei might soon add another smartphone in the bandwagon with the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 series. According to the latest image leaks by Roland Quant and other sources, Huawei Mate 20 might have a headphone jack but it will remain unavailable in the high-end Mate 20 Pro version.
As per the images leaked, you can see that the top edge has a hole on the left which is for 3.5mm headphone jack while another hole on the right could be for an IR blaster. At the bottom, there is a tiny hole for the microphone, a USB Type-C port, and a loudspeaker grille. At the back, the phone case shows a triple camera setup arranged in a unique 2×2 square.
On the contrary, the photos of official silicon phone case posted by Roland Quandt (@rquandt) shows that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro doesn’t have a headphone jack but just holes for mic and IR blaster at the top and a square cut out at the back. To put things into context, the duo Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro released last year had a headphone jack and not respectively.
Huawei will launch the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro at the launch event in London where the two smartphones will join the third smartphone i.e. Huawei Mate 20 Lite which is already available for purchase.
